Remember a few months back when I talked about Dwolla?  It seems that it has picked up some speed! Just the other day Ashton Kutcher has decided that he is going to invest in this awesome Des Moines based company. Just to reiterate from my earlier post, Dwolla is a payment network which allows you to send and receive money  to whomever you want without the expensive fees, debt-inducing policies, and antiquated plastic credit cards. You can use Dwolla on your phone, computer or even your Facebook or Twitter account to send and receive money! I highly encourage all of our clients to visit the Dwolla site and sign up because we LOVE and accept Dwolla!

I was thrilled when Steve and Nicole asked me to be apart of their wedding in Hawaii. It is one of my absolute favorite places to visit and photograph! I first fell in love with it when my wife and I were first married and spent some time there. I find more and more to love with every trip back. This trip was no exception. I arrived at the Hale Koa Hotel a few days before the big event and was able to visit the North Shore and other local attractions and take some photos with the couple, which you’ll get to see in a later post.  Another huge perk of the whole trip was getting to shoot with my friend Christy Ericksson. She was a great addition to the MFP team for this wedding. Thanks to Steve and Nicole for allowing us to be apart of their wedding. We hope you enjoy these photos!

I have to say that I really enjoyed photographing Chelsea and Adam’s wedding. I have known Chelsea and Adam for several years and even took Chelsea’s Senior photos. It has been fun seeing their relationship grow. They both were full of smiles on their wedding day. That is exactly what we love to see. Nothing but love radiated from these two. I had a bit of trouble narrowing down just a few photos for their sneak peek and their blog post.

This last week I joined Nicole & Steve in Oahu, Hawaii to document their wedding. The thing about a destination wedding is that you never run out of places to photograph! Here is just one!

Okay so I couldn’t just narrow it down to just one sneak peek… here are four! These are from this weekend’s wedding with Chelsea & Adam Woody.

Our most recent addition! Madelyn Joy Flowers. She was born on February 14th at 11:35 in the morning. She is our Valentines baby and even shares a Birthday with her Aunt Liz.

Yes, it’s finally done! As of early this morning the new website is up! We are excited to now be Adobe Flash free. This new site is 100% HTML 5 which means a lot of things but mainly that you can now view our website on your mobile devices such as an iPad and iPhone. You’ll also notice that we went WHITE! Our old site color scheme was based primarily on black. Bringing this new color around makes everything feel crisp and clean! We love it! In addition to changing color schemes we added some fun new details. We now have a “Featured” section which will include the most recent Blog entry. We also added a “Collages” section which we have some of our most recent couples images in a collage fashion. Last but not least, we added a Video section. We currently have a video in the making and will be updating this section in the spring. We’ve added a few screen shots below, but you should go on over and check the new website out for yourself! What’s next for MFP? We’re going to do some much needed upkeep to our Blog!

Can you believe January is almost gone! Seriously though where did January go? It’s truly been an amazing first month of 2012. The past few weeks we have been keeping pretty quiet and for good reason! You are about to see some pretty incredible changes around here. Starting with our old Flash based website. That’s right no more Flash! This means you’ll now be able to view our website on all your mobile devices! Say hello to HTML 5! Sorry Adobe. We plan on unveling the new site on February 6th. You’ll see a few changes before then but the entire curtain will open up on the 6th.

In the coming months our clients will be able to pay with Dwolla. We are very excited to be one of the first Photography Studios in Des Moines to offer this. Dwolla is a Des Moines based payment network which allows you, our client to send us payments directly without using that crazy plastic card in your wallet! Along with sending us payments you can also pay for everyday items such as buying a pint at The Royal Mile or eating Sushi at Sarkari Sushi Lounge  In the coming months you will see Dwolla spots popping up everywhere!
